Hello Dear friends and family,

Here is the latest news from Costa Rica

I HAVE RECEIVED THE STEM CELLS !!

On Wednesday evening I underwent the procedure to reintroduce the stem cells that were harvested from my bone marrow on Monday.  I was awake for the procedure but because they were using a stereoscope to maneuver inside my blood veins, I had to remain perfectly still.  Initially, the combination of my medicine side affects and my excitement made staying still difficult.  I could feel the tension building in my body.  Then I remembered a meditation technique I had learned from Micheal McPeak where you chant a mantra in your head over & over again. I have used this meditation at home often and noticed that it worked to calm my body and mind.  The results are evident in the printout they gave me of the heart monitor. It starts out very jumbled and erratic and then shows smooth, regular motion during the meditation.

The doctors tell me that the typical time frame in which one should expect to begin to see changes is four to eight weeks.  I guess it takes this amount of time for the cells to place themselves and grow enough to begin doing there jobs.  I am feeling great.  Will be even better when this big bandage is removed today.  I had two times since the surgery that my regular dose of medicine was too much so I will try cutting back on the meds a little right away.  I have met someone else who is also undergoing this treatment for Parkinsons.  We will stay in touch.  The contract with the institute is for 5 years and so I can continue my relationship with them and they have reserved some of my cells in case further treatments are needed in the future.

My experience has been very good with the doctors being very caring and attentive and the facilities being new and very professional.  The service I have received from the Villa la Mas and their personal nursing  service and private drivers have made this a no stress, almost enjoyable process.  We will stay at Villa la Mas next week also as we have become quite fond of our hostess Ingrid and her wonderful staff.

More prominently known as a recovery center for patients of cosmetic surgery the Villa la Mas now has more and more stem cell patients staying here. The website to learn about Villa la Mas is www.plasticsurgerycostaricaaftercarefacility.com

I'll write again soon but for now things are looking very good.  I want to extend my deepest thanks to all of you again for helping to facilitate this amazing opportunity.  Costa Rica has much to teach us about living an authentic life, seeing the beauty of the natural world and living harmoniously within it.  Lots of love to you all.  Nancy
