Facilitating Community Dialogue
June 4
10-noon

Urban Options, 405 Grove, E. Lansing

Doak Bloss will share information on the process and techniques he uses to facilitate community dialogue.  The techniques are modified from training that he received from ICA Associates in 1995, called “Technologies of Participation.”

In the first hour, he will describe and demonstrate how a group’s creativity and wisdom can be nurtured to generate answers to a Focus Question by moving through the specific sequence of inquiry:  1) perception; 2) reflection; 3) interpretation; and 4) decision.

In the second hour he will guide participants in applying the technique by creating an effective question sequence to answer Focus Questions of interest to the group.
