Small Changes Add Up
- from ideal bite
We would need 5.4 planets to support the world's population if everyone lived as Americans do. But there's hope. The time is ripe for creating a more sustainable world through simple changes in habits by people like us...

Demystifying the Code
-from Noel Copiaco
The hypothesis behind the much hyped book/movie “The Da Vinci Code” is not new. It’s been around for two thousand years. True or not, it’s been a subject that helped create and uncreate kings and kingdoms across Europe... more here

Sustainability Beer Seminars
-Terry LinkWe had our first sustainability beer seminar at the Peanut Barrel last week. It was quickly determined that the space cannot adequately handle the amount of folks that might attend. So next seminar, Tuesday June 13th at 4:30pm will be held at Harpers, where beer is brewed locally and there is more seating.
The issue that percolated up at this discussion was about gifts, giving, receiving and sustainable options in gift giving. It was an intriguing conversation and just the sort of stuff that this convivial gathering was meant to bring up for discussion. The sustainability beer seminars are meant to afford a space to discuss the struggles of trying to live a more meaningful life in the midst of the times we are part of - how shall we respond, as individuals as members of communities writ large and small. This is an inclusive gathering. Only rules are respectful conversation, willingness to engage around issues beyond simply popular culture.
For those who are bored this week, I am the guest blogger at the Great Lakes Town Hall. Read my schlock and weep or chime in. Maybe there is food for discussion in one of these postings...

Whatever you're thinking about is literally like planning a future event. When you're worrying, you are planning. When you're appreciating you are planning...What are you planning?
