- From Sayrah Namaste
NEEDED: Mothers to speak out against the war in Iraq and against torture
In the spirit of the original Mother's Day (which was created as a peace holiday in 1870), we are calling for all mothers in the Lansing area to go on a delegation this Friday, May 6th to Senator Stabenow's office to deliver petitions, hand written letters, and a bouquet of flowers in honor of all the mothers who are without their children this weekend because of the war in Iraq.
Internationally acclaimed poet, author, and activist Maya Angelou may be accompanying us (TBA).
Please consider joining us Friday morning, or writing a letter to Sen. Stabenow expressing your opposition to the war and to the use of torture.
Children are very welcome to be a part of the delegation. For more info, contact Sayrah at cincypeace@hotmail.com
