Designing Healthy Livable Communities Conference Update
- Diane Drago
The final program is attached (in PDF format), which includes the final agenda, meeting room locations and a floor plan of the Lansing Center. You will receive a copy of it in your registration packet at the conference as well.
If you drive, give yourself extra time, due to road construction. It is highly recommended that you park in the lot beneath the Lansing Center, which can be entered from Museum Drive. There is a daily parking fee. You can go to www.lansingcenter.com for complete driving directions and information on the construction.

Well, my old 21 speed is down to 3 gears. So... I went out looking for used bikes last week and test rode one of the newer "comfort bikes." I tried a couple including a "Pure" (by Trek). If you've ever been physically-challenged in riding a bike -- like me -- you owe it to yourself to take a spin on one of these "comfortable upright-riding bikes that make getting there as much fun as being there."
The three features I like are the super comfy seat, the higher handlebars, and the fact that your feet are out in front a bit (note the extended lower frame and chain).

Given the previous story, I'll just say, "Here's another bike that easy on the crotch" -- and, while nothing to bark about, something you'd definitely grow in to.

Gardens: Access to Fresh
Gardening is the #1 hobby in America. Many are finding creative places to plant on their windowsills, porches, front yards, and/or community gardens and greenhouses. Please share your gardening story for a future "Healthy Community Update."
