Clear glass	Clear glass bottles & jars	Rinse & remove metal lids.  Put metal lids with cans.	No green glass, window panes, light bulbs, Pyrex, plate glass.
Brown glass	Brown glass bottles & jars.	Rinse & remove metal lids.  Put metal lids with cans.	No green glass, window panes, light bulbs, Pyrex, plate glass.
Tin (steel) cans & aluminum	Soup cans, aluminum cans, foil & trays.	Rinse, clean & flatten	No paint cans, appliances, hangers, fencing, scrap metal, aerosol cans,  food residue.
#1 PETE & #2 HDPE plastic bottles & jugs	Narrow neck only; water bottles, juice bottles, milk jugs, detergent bottles.	Remove & discard caps.  Rinse & flatten.	No motor oil bottles, Styrofoam tubs, buckets, pails, toys.
Mixed paper & Magazines	Catalogs, magazines, junk mail,  white or pastel envelopes, & glue bound soft-cover books from residential sources.	Remove from plastic or paper bags.  Remove all string or twine.	No  cardboard & brown paper bags or boxboard (soap boxes, cereal boxes, beverage boxes, etc.)
Newspaper	Paper bags, mail, inserts (Sunday coupons, etc.), mail	Remove plastic,   string or twine.  Paper bags O.K.	No magazines, phone books
Corrugated cardboard & brown paper bags	Packing boxes & similar boxes with corrugated middle; brown grocery sacks.	Breakdown & remove any contaminants like wood, Styrofoam or food.	No cereal boxes, shoe boxes or other boxboard, glossy or shiny cardboard, wax coated cardboard, 6/12/24 beverage cases.
