Lake Lansing Trails News

From Leslie Kuhn

I want to share with you the terrific news that yesterday morning, the Michigan Natural Resources Trust fund approved the allocation of $1.98M towards purchasing the southern 120 acres of land to expand Lake Lansing North Park!!  It was an incredibly happy moment for those of us at the meeting!   The NRTF amount, along with the extremely generous $675K provided by the Meridian Township Land Preservation Advisory Board, $150K the community raised, and $25K in support provided by Ingham County, matches the appraisal of the land done last summer plus costs associated with the purchase.  Also, look for an article about our success in the Towne Courier this weekend…

Those of you who would like to help with land stewardship for Lake Lansing North Park and other publicly owned lands in Ingham County (ensuring that natural habitats are preserved and invasive species are removed) are encouraged to let me know, so we can help this place stay wonderfully natural.
