More and more organizations are realizing the value of being environmentally conscious in their business practices. These efforts are being fostered via horizontal changes in company practices with partners and allies and vertically throughout company supply chains. HR can play a strategic role in enhancing and improving such corporate environmental processes and practices and serve as a catalyst for championing these initiatives throughout the company. The human resource organization also serves as the “credibility” linchpin for introducing processes and practices that design and evaluate resources to ensure that such environmentally friendly practices are being fostered and achieved at all levels of the organization.
