Energy Team:  11/20   (Draft Summary)

Dennis is getting bids on hi-bay lighting at the Service Center and Fire Station.  There’s some discussion about use of electric heaters in offices.

Maggie sent a reminder about the regional diesel retrofit grant proposal.  We may participate.

LeRoy shared an update on the Meridian Green Bike lending program for Twp employees/volunteers.  Still no word on EECBG application.  LeRoy’s started exploring energy auditor possibilities so that we’re ready to go when/if we receive notice.

A Green Review team has been meeting to develop a survey that can help businesses identify energy and other waste reduction options.  More at www.re-news.net/meridian/greenreview   It was suggested that larger facilities like the Mall or the MAC might be good targets if we have person-power available.

A draft of a Wind Ordinance will be reviewed next week. 

A packet was distributed mentioning a regional grant opportunity and ideas related to energy strategy development.
