Send me your pictures! (by 9/28 please)

Just a reminder to send me your pictures for our MOCTH final report. I'm hoping that this will be more than a "final report"... more of a useful document that folks will go to for inspirtation, reference, how-to, etc.

I can scan regular pictures or you could send JPEG/GIFs if you like. In particular, I'm looking for shots of cool, fun, active, healthy - related things that are going on in your neighborhoods. If you have favorite pics that illustrate some of these themes, please send'em along.

THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THE POWER OF WE CONSORTIUM meeting last week. While "Katrina" is a hard act to follow, I think you all were very inspiring and informative.

Jessica pointed out that a lot of folks still don't see the connection between health, driving habits, and environmental quality. Our work is certainly not over, and we need to keep the conversation going and remain open for opportunities to MOVE FORWARD.

Personally, as someone with interest in energy -- I'm intrigued why most people are still not connecting the energy independence/conservation issue with walkable bikable communities yet. We're still entranced with high tech solutions (just look at today's article in LSJ (8D). http://www.lsj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050922/NEWS03/509220344/1004/news03

Oh... and don't miss the excerpt on Dan Burden's visit to the Eastside in this week's Pulse.

My goal now, with your help, is to share some our success and your inspirational stories with a larger audience -- successes, challenges, recommendations, etc.

Comments are welcome.
